It's Fall in New England. There is a lull in the personality of the people around me. It's as if the community is saying, hope you have your baskets of nuts gathered and berries preserved, because winter will be here before you know it.People are grieving the loss of Summer and the joy it rained down on us.
But wait! Winter has cozy gatherings of friends and family as we gift each other with things we've created either with pen, brush or oven.
We reflect on our successes, our dreams, our sorrows and attribute them all to our growth.
I climb out of my hole and celebrate my life today, and when I need a second wind, help me dance or laugh or sing so that I am not overcome by the gray. And remember, I am here for you too, with my eraser in hand, and bag of rainbow sharpies to color your world. We'll both get through this together!

Still Painting!!

Well it's been almost a month since I worked for an employer. I didn't qualify for unemployment, but even if I did, I would have earned too much to qualify!! Pretty sweet eh? One job's leading to another, and I'm grateful that all my steps are in order for the next one. Each day I am excited and not anxious about what God will bring for me to do. I am going to be designing a rack card to share with the general public; details of my new business. But for now I've go to learn about the legal pieces. Such as a NAME, and getting it registered with the state of Vermont! Someone on facebook suggested "Simply Mona". It's a good place to start I think.

I look into his eyes behind the shadow of his shades
I feel the love of Jesus while I feel all of his pain
I hear without a word, the heart of God say it's okay
There's nothing there but love crossing all lines throughout the day
Love made her sing out so loud - love had made her see
THat the Jesus we were serving was the ONE who'd set us FREE
So we reached and touched the hem and as he opened up our eyes
He CUT through FEAR and CUT through HATE and CUT through ALL the LIES
He tore the veil and tore the bread - provided LIBERTY
He took the shame; he KILLED the fix of dark captivity
Now I am clean and He resides inside my sanctuary
Though brothers walk in silence I will SHOUT HIS NAME before me
I now can hear what you hear Lord - I see just what you see
We ALL can be your hands - your arms - It's not just ME it's WE
So send me to your people Lord - yes send me to the masses
Where you will go Lord, I will go - wearing your COOL LOVE GLASSES

He gave me new eyes this past weekend while volunteering on the Relief Bus NH/VT crew. I saw people through some serious “LOVE GLASSES”.
As I sat there amazed at how beautiful the works of art were flowing out of me with such ease (painting on people for 4 hours) it finally occurred to me: JESUS is the one painting through me!! He’s giving each person that I painted, a special gift from the Father himself. HOW COOL IS THAT?
I have a new light to work by, and I can’t wait to get started on new works to see what Jesus wants to give to this world, through me. (Why me Lord?) I am amazed.
AMEN
